A new design for the Bolt subscription screen
Table of Contents
For many Bolt customers in-app purchases are a critically important part of their app's commercial strategy. This means that the experience for users looking to purchase a subscription needs to be a beautiful, seamless journey.
We've been collating the feedback we've received from customers and users, alongside our internal data, and are making some changes to the subscription screen in Pugpig Bolt. We believe these changes will deliver three things:
- A design refresh, bringing this screen in line with the latest design guidance and trends
- A clearer way of displaying the benefits included in a given subscription
- More flexibility around the information you choose to display
We've detailed these changes below, along with some wireframes to help you visualise them. Naturally, these are subject to change until they actually ship in an upcoming version of Bolt.
Key changes
- A clear list of what's included in the subscription, including the option to offer multiple subscription levels with different benefits
- Bigger, bolder listings for each subscription option
- A “best value” indicator, and the ability to decide which subscription is selected by default
- The ability to include a logo at the top of the screen, as well an additional subheader
- Sticky CTA buttons at the bottom of the screen
No functionality is being removed or deprecated with the changes. The new designs will continue to support features like introductory pricing and subscription levels, as well as any existing copy fields.
When/How do I get it?
These changes will be included in a future version of Bolt, expected to be released in Q4 2024. All apps will use the new screen once they update to this version, and the current version will no longer be available.
Of course you'll be able to review the new look in your app during the update process, and adjust any copy or styling to make the most of it.
