Handling Corrections and Additions for RSS-Ingested Articles in the CMS
In some cases, content ingested from an RSS feed may contain incorrect data, or you may wish to add more information to an article. The preferred approach is to always update the RSS feed directly, allowing the changes to be ingested automatically into our CMS. However, if this isn’t possible, follow the steps below to manually edit the article in our CMS without altering the RSS feed content.
Steps for Editing in Express CMS
1. Navigate to the article you wish to manually edit.
2. Make the necessary amendments to the article content.
3. Once your changes are complete, check the box labelled 'Manual Editing' and click ‘Update.’ This option ensures that any updates from the RSS feed will not overwrite your manual changes.
4. Repeat this process for each article ingested from the RSS feed that requires manual updates.
By enabling “Manual Editing,” you preserve your modifications independently of future RSS feed updates.
Steps to Revert to Previous Article Versions
1. Navigate to the article you want to revert to a previous version.
2. Locate the revision slider (displayed in red), which shows the timeline of revisions made to the article.
3. Use the slider to select the version of the article you wish to restore.
4. Once you’ve found the desired version, click 'Restore this revision' and click ‘Update.'
That’s it! The article will now be reverted to the selected version.
