Android App Transfer
Transferring an App on Google Play Between Developer Accounts.
Table of Contents
It’s important for clients to retain ownership of their apps within their own Google Play Developer Accounts. This gives you complete control over your app’s listing, sales reports, and legal agreements. However, if you’re moving your app to a new provider, like Pugpig, and the app is currently hosted under your previous provider’s developer account, transferring the app is essential.
This guide explains the process of transferring app ownership from the original developer account to your new one.
Meet Transfer Criteria
Ensure the app meets the following requirements:
• The app is published on Google Play.
• Both the current and new Google Play Developer accounts are active and registered.
• The app complies with all Google Play policies.
Collect Required Information
You’ll need:
• The app package name (e.g., com.example.myapp).
• The developer account email address for both accounts.
Backup App Data
Save essential data, such as:
• App listings (title, description, images).
• Financial and analytics reports.
• In-app purchase or subscription details.
Request App Transfer

2. Navigate to Settings > Account Details > Transfer Ownership.
3. Provide the necessary details for the target account.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit the request.
Coordinate with New Account Owner
The new owner must:
1. Accept the transfer request in their Google Play Console.
2. Update API keys, certificates, or any linked services.
Update App Settings
After the transfer, update:
• API integrations (e.g., Firebase, Push Notifications).
• Payment profiles if required.
