iOS App Transfer
Table of Contents
We never submit customers' apps in our own developer accounts - it's always better for you to have ownership of your sales figures, app store listings and legal agreements. However, some customers migrating to Pugpig from other providers may be in the situation where their previous supplier had set up the app in their own accounts.
This obviously creates problems when you want to take control of the app again! The purpose of this guide is to outline the steps to transfer app ownership from the previous developer account to your new one.
Before initiating the app transfer
1. Check you meet the app transfer criteria.
You will not see the option to transfer the app unless it is in one of the states outlined in the transfer criteria.
2. Backup your app information
The app will be completely removed from the previous account once the transfer is complete. You should take a note information such as your app's metadata data, app store listing, pricing etc. so you can copy this data into the new account.
In particular you should think about saving reports from your 'App Analytics', 'Sales and Trends' and 'Payments and Financial Report'
3. Coordinate with the Pugpig team and/or your previous app provider
Before you finalize your app transfer, consider factors such as push notifications and in-app purchasing. Both require special keys that will change once your app has been successfully transferred to the new account. Please reach out to the relevant party and plan ahead to ensure uninterrupted service for end-users.
